Player test: Lenovo Ideacentre Q190

27/10/2014

We've just tested the Lenovo Ideacentre Q190, which has a Corei3-3217U, 4GB memory, 500GB HD, Intel HD 4000 graphics, Ethernet and Wifi built in, aswell as a DVD writer. It ships with Windows 8.1.

It was able to handle anything we threw at it, vastly outperforming the weaker Celeron and Atom models. It's not that much more expensive either, so in some usecases this will be a really good fit for your signage needs.

Pros:
- Very nice build-quality
- Easy Windows 8.1 setup (but remember to chose a Local account)
- VGA and HDMI
- Comes in various configurations.

Cons:
- Not much, but added performance comes with an increased price. For standard signage use there's more affordable models out there.
